Isn't meaning what we're really after? |

One of the differences of training with us is that all new clients must write down what they want their life to mean, and how good health will benefit that.
You can't have good health in a vacuum, you can't make health one of the most important things in your life and associate it with a shallow goal that only benefits yourself.
You must find meaning to get anywhere. I've always tried to instill that happiness is great, but without meaning, happiness is a series of fleeting pleasures. It's why people turn to food or HBO for happiness. They have no lasting meaning.
A truly big part of meaning and purpose is in service of helping others. I started All Out Effort not because I am really passionate about fitness, it's because I really found purpose in helping people. Fitness just happened to be the area I was most skilled in and saw the most need.
Habits of Happiness
(Interesting side note, the depressive nature of the subjunctive. It doesn't exist in Asian languages but there are two forms in French. Language can affect optimism.)
