FITNESS PRODUCTS

These are the products I recommend to all of my clients

Restoring the body is the first step:

Want to know why this is important? Read my fascia article.

THE STANDING DESK

None of the stuff we work on will matter if we continue to sit and slouch all day. Out of everything I've done, nothing has had more impact per dollar on my life than the standing desk. Not sitting and slouching as I use the computer has made all the difference. Stand on an anti-fatigue mat and you are ready to go.

THE FOOT ROLLER

Rolling out starts with the feet up and the most important area is your feet. I do not travel without this roller.

THE GRID FOAM ROLLER

Foam rolling is essential for maintaining good health and preventing injury. This model has different ridges to work the body in varied ways.

THE RUMBLE ROLLER

Next grade in foam rolling. Great for tripper points and deep adhesions. Longer roller is more stable, shorter requires more balance to use.

THE ALPHA BALL

This is a high density deep tissue massage ball. It's to dig into very specific knots, adhesions, or scar tissue that requires more precision than a roller. Our clients use it on the floor or against a wall, and it works great to relieve stress tension. This is the most enjoyable myofascial tool.

THE MASSAGE ROLLER

To get areas with more precision. This is my favorite piece of rehab equipment, just what you can do with it on the ankles, forearms, and neck is worth the cost. I use this daily.

THE MASSAGE CANE

Use this for the areas you can't reach yourself, especially upper back, behind the neck, or parts of your leg. It helps to break up specific adhesion you can't reach with a foam roller.

STRETCH ROPE

Something we use at the studio with every client, for active isolated stretches and long duration static stretches. If you want to increase flexibility and range of motion, you have to chip away at it every day. It's hygiene.

ELASTIC STRETCH STRAP

Similar to the stretch rope above, it has some other uses with its elasticity, and can help with activation work.

PHYSIO BALL

Other than the foam rollers, this is the product I use the most with my clients. It has so many versatile uses, a platform, stability device, strength training, speed training, and rehabilitation.

Optimizing is step two:

Want to know why quantifying is important? Here are my thoughts on quantifying clients.

GAMMA RAY BLUE LIGHT BLOCKING GLASSES

I recently started using these and they have been a complete game changer. I use them because I use the computer a lot and my eyes and neck have been suffering from the strain. These glasses block glare, block harmful blue light frequencies, and make everything clearer. Improving sleep and fighting the effects of macular degeneration from constant LED light exposure.

THE FITBIT ULTRA

This is probably the first product you need. Especially if you already love gadgets and are in love with your phone. It tracks your activity level, how many miles you walked (or moved), calories burned, stairs climbed, how well you sleep, how fast you move. It makes better sleep and constant activity something you can track and will make you want to be better at it. Awareness and education are the best motivators.

OMRON BODY COMPOSITION SCALE

The most affordable and best scale in the market that not only tells you weight but, body fat percentage, body mass index (BMI), skeletal muscle, resting metabolism, visceral fat, and body age. Too much emphasis is put on weight and not enough on other criteria, and that's mainly due to most scales only telling you weight. Now there are other qualities you can track, like muscle.

NEW BALANCE MINIMUS: FOR WOMEN

A great barefoot shoe not just for running. If you are focusing on proper foot alignment and running. Read this article about running.

NEW BALANCE MINIMUS: FOR MEN

A great barefoot shoe not just for running. If you are focusing on proper foot alignment and running. Read this article about running.

WAKE UP LIGHT

This product has been revolutionizing how I wake up and overall energy level. Instead of being suddenly woken up by my alarm and getting an adrenaline rush, it slowly wakes me up over a thirty minute period by getting bright like as if the sun was rising. This also resets your body clock. Sleep is just as important as diet and exercise combined and the thing most people value the least.

Strengthening the body is the step three:

KETTLEBELL SET

The least expensive kettlebell set in the market at the highest quality. It's a great starter set. We rely heavily on the kettlebell for strength.

KETTLEBELLS

Everything you will need to work out at home. Instead of a set, buy one at a time. One of the best kettlebells out there.

THE AIRDYNE SCHWINN AD2

My favorite piece of cardio equipment. I love it because it works your whole body, forces you to use arms and legs and core during cardio, as long as seat height is correct there is almost no way to do it wrong, its easy on the joints, and it has infinite resistance. Meaning the harder you peddle the more it will resist against you. And because its from Schwinn its built to last. Just got it not too long ago and it's already my most used cardio equipment. And it doesn't take up much space, great for home gyms.

MAXI CLIMBER

In our gym we use the VersaClimber but for home use, I recommend this to our clients. This is probably the ultimate and most challenging test of endurance. Not for the faint of heart but a good way to save time, you only need to use it for 20 minutes or less.
