I Am A Nerd First, Trainer Second
By Sam Yang - Get similar updates here
I define myself as three things. I am a martial artist, a fitness coach, and a nerd. I don't know if nerd is the right word but it's the only word I can use to describe my love for complex systems.
Other people want simple answers, sometimes even at the cost of accuracy or truth. I dive head long into complex systems, appreciating it in all it's complexities. I apply this to health, to business, to martial arts, to relationships, to everything!
What makes the most sense? What's the best fit? Many people create personal philosophies, they figure out their own personal truths and explain the world through the lens of their biases. Though I understand the power of this sort of thinking, for me I often found this to be rather... self-centered. What's true for you is not the same as what's true for the universe. It may explain things for you or explain things in the manner you most agree with, but what about the world?
What works for the world and seems to explain everything? What's the best explanation for the universe we live in? There are many models of explanations, but what's the best fit model?
In variably everything boils down to physics. It's the framework I use to understand all other frameworks. It's a quest for knowledge, something I've fallen in love with and so should you.
