Your Rice Is Made Out Of People

A company called Ventria is making a GMO modified rice in Kansas that has been modified with human genes, specifically from our liver. They are making it for pharmaceutical reasons to eventually use it to feed third world children but there is already growing fear this could cause adverse health reactions.

If that's not disturbing enough, it is being grown outdoors in open fields where the chance of cross contamination and wild spread is high.

It reminds me of the movie "Soylent Green" where in the future, they run out of food and everyone eats something called soylent green. Eventually the main hero figures out soylent green is made out of people, which is also the classic line from the film.

It was troubling to hear about the rise of levels of arsenic in rice, and now this.
